I love Stews! So easy and so tasty. This week has been s little crazy so one day I:
- Chopped a large onion – cook gently in some ghee or oil
- Browned 1 kg if stewing steak (högrev)
- Added 3 closed of garlic – chopped
- 3 dl water
- 1 tsp bouillon powder
- Couple of bay leaves
Put the lid on and placed in the oven for 3-5 hours!
45 min before eating I added:
- Butternut squash
- … But any root vegetables are good (albeit it will be pink if you use beetroot)
Back in the oven till the veg are soft – about 30-40 min and then served with green vegetables!
If may sound time consuming but if you arc working from home it is about 15 minutes of work – split in two. Also it is very tasty a few days later.
